WHAT IS A BEDBUG?
Bedbugs are small (not invisible) insects that feed on the blood of their host. They will find the tiniest cracks and crevices close by whoever they are feeding on. Some say they resemble an apple seed maxing out at around 5mm in size. They have a head, no visible wings, oval in shape and are a rusty brown colour.
The female bedbug can lay up to 10 eggs a day and only requires to be fertilized once in her life time.
Bedbugs normally feed at night when their host is dormant and their bites have been known to cause rashes and allergic reactions and for some mental health challenges when dealing with bedbugs due to the stress and fear of an infestation.
Bedbugs can be incredibly destructive when it comes to infestations being left untreated. The damage caused by bedbugs comes in the form of staining of furniture with their droppings as well as infestations reaching points of no return where the only option is to remove the furniture from the infestation site (last resort).
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET RID OF BEDBUGS?
Bedbugs can be a difficult pest to control and the products available offer different time frames for efficacy. SeeNo Pest Control offers an integrated approach to controlling these pests. By physically removing bedbugs with a bug vacuum and steaming into areas bedbugs are suspected we greater our chances at success by flushing out hiding bugs and physically removing them from the site of infestation.
Typically a bedbug infestation should be taken care of within 30 days but there is a lot of work to be done by our exterminators and by you the client to ensure the best and quickest results
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT BEDBUGS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Preventing bedbugs is an incredibly difficult task. If you are living in a building or apartment where you suspect there to be an infestation present your best course of action is to avoid visiting neighbours, avoid having neighbours visit you, when taking the elevator refrain from leaning on any walls, leave your shoes at the door and inspect them thoroughly.
Other ways to avoid a bedbug infestation is to avoid taking or buying any 2nd hand furniture unless it is coming from a trusted source where it’s known without a shadow of a doubt there has never been a bedbug infestation of any kind.
